He began visiting the State Capitol over 17 years ago. He learned that sharing your story could have an impact on decisions being made.  Kathie was a tireless champion of mental health issues while in the legislature and every year since her tenure as legislator. She was the sponsor for the Medicaid for Workers with Disabilities legislation in the House.  While in the legislature Kathie also served on the Idaho Self-Determination Task Force which created the self-direction option under the developmental disability waiver.
