Local Non-Profit to Take Part in National ADA Jeopardy Competition

MOSCOW – Mark Leeper, the Executive Director of Disability Action Center NW (DAC NW) will be competing in an upcoming nationwide virtual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Jeopardy game! This fun-filled, accessible game will test their knowledge of the ADA, signed into law July 26th, 1990. Ten teams from regional ADA centers in the ADA National Network will provide the questions to the Jeopardy answers.

The competition will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 2:00pm – 3:30pm EST (11:00am – 12:30pm PST).

Mark Leeper of DAC NW will be representing Region 10 NW ADA Center with other team members, Dana Gover, Linda Clemon Karp, Sabine Rear, and Mel Toy. This team represents Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

“This is a fun way for businesses, State and Local Government, or anyone to learn about the ADA,” said Leeper. “Questions will cover all aspects of the ADA. It could get tough even for an ADA nerd like me!”

Anyone can attend the virtual game. They will have a chance to take part by suggesting questions for the bonus round when they register. Topics include Employment (ADA Title I), Facility Access, Public Accommodations (ADA Title III), State and Local Government (ADA Title II), Accessible Technologies, Effective Communication, Reasonable Accommodation, and Reasonable Modification of Policy and Procedures. Winning team will have bragging rights for the next year.

It is free to attend. The session will have sign language interpreters and real time captioning.
