Inland Northwest Disability Experience
Disability Action Center NW is proud to be opening INDEx in Spokane, Washington. This center will focus on guiding the Independent Living Movement by advocating for independence, equity, and justice. Working together to raise the voices of those who are most marginalized – from BIPOC to LGBTQ+, to immigrants or to those in poverty. As an organization run by people with disabilities for people with disabilities, INDEx provides peer counseling, support and mentoring. The best advice often comes from those who have already experienced it. At INDEx, we believe that everyone has the right to access their community as independently as they wish and we are here to assist in reaching that independence. An Independent Living Advocate can assist you in making a plan, setting goals, learn independent living skills, and community involvement. Each plan is individualized for you based directly off of what YOU want.
