Disability Action Center NW

Disability Action Center Receives Donation

Disability Action Center NW (DAC NW) received a grant for $1000 from Kappa Iota (Idaho) Pi Kappa Phi chapter. The Kappa Iota chapter excelled in fundraising efforts for the Ability Experience, a non-profit that works to change the way society views people with disabilities. They host a Journey of Hope coast to coast bike ride yearly that makes a stop in Pullman, Washington on their route.

This group most recently worked to prepare the accessible garden at Koppel Farm for the spring growing season. The accessible garden is the first fully accessible public garden plot in our region. The garden is located at the corner of Pro Mall Blvd and Derby Street, adjacent to the Pullman Trail System.

DAC NW plans to use the funds to promote making gardening accessible throughout the region by providing access to the plans and their implementation at no cost to community gardens. DAC NW works to build community, achieve equality, and create independence in an accessible world.
