The Washington State Traumatic Brain Injury Council provides Support Groups throughout the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) that emphasize education and interpersonal support. The TBI Support Groups are predicated on the concept that a person-centered approach can empower and enrich an individual’s life following a Traumatic Brain Injury.

This past year, we have also recently launched the “Traumatic Brain Injury, Level 1, Capable Caregiving for Brain Injury” Course. This 8 hr. course can be delivered virtually to help those working with persons that have a TBI; such as providers, families, and caregivers to better understand their needs, communication skills, and also understand the basics of a TBI. There is also the option to deliver this material in a shorter version that does not include CEUs, if general information only is desired.
More TBI information and resource materials can be found at Traumatic Brain Injury | DSHS (wa.gov)
