In a crisis, people with disabilities shouldn’t just be “accounted for” – we should be understood, respected, and heard. At this session first responders want your lived experience on safe evacuation power wheelchairs, how to communicate, and respecting service animals.
You can learn how to effectively advocate for yourself in an emergency setting. You can help first responders understand the needs of people with disabilities.
Communication between first responders and people who are neurodivergent, blind or deaf.
The reality of adaptive equipment and service animals protocols.
