Mouth Magazine began in 1990 after Lucy was hit by a drunk driver and acquired a brain injury. She described her escape from a brain injury rehabilitation facility after three weeks. Within a few years, Mouth Magazine: Voice of the Disability Nation caught the attention of disability rights advocates all over the country.
