Summer Ready Resources
There’s no doubt that summer is here! We have been experiencing consistent, record-breaking heatwaves. Extreme heat can be deadly! It’s very important to practice heat safety and to be prepared. For people with disabilities, it’s especially imperative to understand how heat can affect your health and to make a plan for how you will adapt to summer weather.
Additionally, extreme heat significantly raises the risk of wildfire, and it’s a great idea to create an emergency plan for yourself and your family in the event of a natural disaster and the need to evacuate.

FEMA.gov is another excellent resource for information on weather-related emergency conditions and being prepared in the event of a disaster.
To find out more about the risk in your region, you may also want to reach out to your local Emergency Manager or CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
