Every vote counts. Your vote = your voice. There are hundreds of state and local elections around the corner, it’s crucial to make sure you are registered to vote, have a plan on how to vote, and understand what’s on the ballot and how it impacts people with disabilities. So don’t miss your chance to get registered to vote in November’s election.
Disability Voting Rights Week is Sept 8-12 and culminates in a variety of events on the 17th. Take this time to acknowledge, educate, and advocate around the systemic barriers that prevent many voters in our community from accessing the ballot.
If you want to learn more about voting join in the September 17th National REV UP Call. This event is designed to keep you up-to-date and engaged. The call kicks off with important updates, like upcoming funding opportunities or timely policy actions. Then, they dive into a featured discussion topic, often with an expert guest speaker.
To make the most of the time together, you’ll also join small breakout groups where you can share ideas, strategize, and learn with others.
September Discussion Topic: DVRW & Election Outreach Strategy
Celebrate Disability Voting Rights Week by hearing from election officials, REV UP coalitions, and community partners who hosted in-person and virtual events to empower the disability vote. Following the guest presentations, they’ll re-imagine what DVRW can look like in the future and discuss strategies for strengthening outreach ahead of upcoming elections. If you need CART, ASL, or another accommodation, please answer the virtual accommodations question when registering for the event.
