Barbara comes to DAC from her participation in helping create an accessible garden plot at Koppel Farms Pullman Community Garden in Pullman, Washington. She is passionate about education and gardening. Both have influenced her master’s degree studies in instructional design, for which she has been developing a computer-based learning module for teaching gardening. Barbara has a background as a consumer health writer and medical/scientific research editor, and this has come in handy in her efforts to become informed about local and national resources for folks with Parkinson’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. It has enabled her to use her people skills to make connections and build networks. Always ready to help with editing, writing and event planning, she says she is skilled at telling involved stories–that have no point!
