Lewiston Tribune JULY 5, 2025
July 18, 1968 – June 1, 2025
Idaho native and proudly self-described “old farm boy,” Steve filled his 56 years with what mattered most to him — family, friends and community. And all things Denver Broncos. Whether you knew him as a coach, mentor, colleague, advocate, council member, mayor, friend, family or any of the countless other roles he filled in his lifetime, one thing that was always clear was how passionate he was about helping others achieve their goals and doing his part to make his community a better place for everyone.
For Steve, strangers were just friends he hadn’t met yet, friends were for life and family was everything — and nothing meant more to him than spending time with those he loved. Steve believed strongly in telling — and showing — others how much he cared about them, and he never missed an opportunity to stop by someone’s house, make a quick call or send a text just to say hi and see how they were doing. Above all, nothing meant more to him than his and Kristin’s kids, whom he was so very proud of, and nothing brought him more joy or put a bigger smile on his face than their grandkids — each one held a special place in his heart.
Whatever Steve said he was going to do, he did … you could count on it. When he was diagnosed with leukemia, he said he would beat it into remission, and he did. When the side effects of the stem cell transplant wreaked havoc on his body, he said he was going to conquer that as well — and he was. What none of us were ready for was the devastating, unstoppable infection that left us all with a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. Steve will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his “older by 4 months” partner of 22 years, Kristin; their kids: Jordan and Matt, Joshua and Noel, Jolee and Travis, and Lauren and Matthew; their grandkids: Sophiah, Shyloh, Roslyn, Lincoln, Rider, Scotland, Riverlynn and Jordan; their siblings: Bill, Chrystine, Doug, Dennis, Jenny and Michael; their parents: Robert Corr, Vern and Marelene Forsberg and Joyce Kozeni; and his countless family and friends.
Steve’s family invites everyone to join us at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Troy Lions Club Community Center, 415 S. Main St., Troy, as we gather to remember and celebrate Steve. Lunch will be provided. In the spirit of community, everyone is invited to bring a dessert to share, and in honor of Steve, everyone is encouraged to wear the colors of the Troy Trojans or the Denver Broncos. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the City of Troy’s Youth Sports Program, City of Troy – Attn: Sabrina Moyer, P.O. Box 595, Troy, ID 83871; or to Disability Action Center NW, 505 N. Main St., Moscow, ID 83843.
