SUMMARY:Peer 2 Peer Parkinson's Disease Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Exercise can slow down the progression of Parkinson’s disease\, but so can certain diets. This month we will talk about the MIND diet\, which stands for Mediterranean-DASH Diet Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. It was created by Dr. Martha Clare Morris\, a nutritional epidemiologist\, who combined the Mediterranean diet with the DASH diet\, tweaked them\, and studied the results. She found the MIND diet delayed the onset of Parkinson’s disease\, but it also slowed its progression in those who already had the disease. Come join your fellow Parkinsonians to learn more about the MIND diet and see if it can be helpful for you.

SUMMARY:"Yes\, and...." Improv for People with Social Anxiety
DESCRIPTION:Do you feel anxious in social situations? Join us for a fun\, confidence-building\, connection\, and self-expression through improv! Happening every Wednesday from January 14 through February 18. These workshops are FREE! \nRegister here. \nWorkshop presented by Judy Sobeloff. She is a local improviser and LMSW who has led workshops and activities for people of all ages and in a variety of settings\, including libraries\, schools\, colleges\, correctional facilities\, sidewalks\, arts festivals\, and community centers. A teaching artist for the Idaho Commission on the Arts since 2005\, she strives to offer collaborative projects that both foster social and emotional well-being and are surprisingly fun. She holds an MSW from the University of Michigan and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington. She is also an enthusiastic graduate of both the yearlong Seattle-based Teaching Artists Training Lab and the Northwest Creative and Expressive Arts Institute’s yearlong professional certificate program in expressive arts therapy. She has worked with people in residential treatment\, Outward Bound courses\, bereavement support groups\, juvenile detention\, special education classes\, and at an alternative high school. Some of her superpowers are disarming through humor and creating emotional safety.

SUMMARY:Public Comment about Medicaid for Idaho
DESCRIPTION:The Idaho Legislature during the 2025 session approved House Bill 345\, which moved oversight of Idaho’s entire Medicaid program to a managed care organization\, added work requirements for some people\, and required cost sharing of services for participants\, among other sweeping changes. Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is seeking public input through a statewide survey until December 31st. If you would like help accessing the survey and filling it out\, DAC NW can help! \nYou can also access the survey here.
